The wisest decision here would be to not throw them out and turn those favourite shades of your into amazing lip balms. All you have to do is to take out your favourite old tins and tubs, almost used lipsticks and customize them as per your taste to create tinted lip balms.
Follow these super-easy and simple steps to make your own skin-friendly lip balms:
1- Begin by choosing a container that is going to be a storage place for your lip balm. Anything that can hold the intended quantity of lip balm will do. Wash it with hot soapy water and sanitize it. Let it dry completely for suitable use.
2- Now, take out all the ingredients to prepare them. Take two parts oil to one part beeswax for initial raw materials. You can choose the oil of your choice, or as per the nature of your lips. Do add a bit of peppermint oil for a fresh scent or almond oil for extra moisture.
3- Once the ingredients have been prepared, start using them to prepare your lip balm. Melt the beeswax in a double boiler, ensuring that the top bowl does not touch the water. When the wax has melted, remove it from the heat. Add the oils of your choice and the lipstick of your preferred quantity. The more lipstick you add in, the darker your balm will be.
4- As soon as you are done mixing in all the ingredients, immediately our the hot mixture in your desired storing tin or tub. Leave it overnight for proper cooling. Ideally, use it on your lips after a day and let it do the magic.
